As it's World Book Day today, we thought we'd pick out a few of our favourite 'book nooks' - after all, surely there's nothing better than settling down in a cosy little corner with your favourite book...
This fun space (pictured above) was styled by Kids Design Life. Taking some simple shelving - Ikea spice racks do the job nicely - and displaying your favourite story books is a lovely way to create a special feature wall whilst adding a splash of colour to the room. A comfy beanbag, an armchair or in this case, a beautiful little play tent full of cushions will ensure that there is plenty of space to snuggle up and enjoy them.
We have featured this room (below) by Live Loud Girl before, but we couldn't resist showing it off again here as we LOVE the combination of colourful prints, colourful books and colourful wall dot decals! And why shouldn't the books become part of the decor?
In fact, as the photo below proves, the books really can tone in with the rest of the room! This pretty space was designed and styled by Ursula of Room to Bloom for her client, little Charlotte. We love the colour palette of soft greys, dusky pinks with a hint of aubergine - and the use of the shelves for both the books and accessories together. The smart little armchair provides the perfect finishing touch to this magical reading corner:
Speaking of which, we love how this room (found on Photo Diaries blog) has its very own space dedicated to reading AND play! The clever use of geometric paint in the shape of a house, together with the floor cushions and soft toys gives the corner its very own identity by separating it from the rest of the room:
Last but not least, this snug little play house den (as seen on Mommo Design blog) and featuring our best-selling cloud cushion is the perfect spot to play and relax. With a favourite story book or two, of course.
If you fancy re-creating your very own book nook at home, make sure you take a look at our shop - from cosy play dens to comfy cushions and snuggly rugs, we have everything you need... And that includes the books, too.
