With the arrival of the spring sunshine comes this bright and beautiful rainbow shared bedroom belonging to lucky big and little sisters Mads and LL, aged 4 and 2.
The room was created by their talented photographer and mummy Katie from Mummy Daddy Me blog, after LL was ready to make the move out of her cot and into her big girl bed. And when all's said and done, why have a single bed when bunk beds mean that your big sis can move in with you too...?
So it came about - the nursery was transformed into a vibrant, colourful shared bedroom space, freeing up Mads' old room to become a home office. Taking inspiration from her girls (who aren't really into pastel pink), Katie set about creating a fun and magical space with smart, neutral walls and furniture accessorised with every colour in the rainbow together with a hint of retro that would blend right in with the rest of their family home. And we love how it has all come together. From the Farg & Form cloud bedding to the contrasting monochrome initial cushions, not forgetting the beautifully bold and bright prints and photos on the picture gallery wall (and that amazing felt rainbow garland by our Etsy favourite Velveteen Babies) - even the book display adds to the whole effect - this room is the perfect example of how to do primary in a playful and fun yet smart and sophisticated, unisex way (and thanks to Ikea, it doesn't have to cost the earth either). We're sharing some of our favourite pics, however for the full room tour and the story behind what big sister Mads has described as "the best room ever", be sure to check out Katie's full post. This room is living proof that it really is all about the accessories. Thanks so much Katie, Mads and LL for allowing us to share your inspiring space!
