This bold and brightly-illustrated melamine tableware from The Kid Who is just the job for picnics this summer (and for bringing a splash of colour to the table come autumn). Designed in France by Marc Boutavant, the collection is based upon his best-selling French children's book, 'Around the World with Mouk', the story of an adorable little bear who travels around the world on a voyage of discovery with his friends Chavapa and Maki. The plates, £5.50 each (above), made by Petit Jour Paris, show Mouk and his friends on their adventures in Australia, Greece and the Sahara. Measuring 203mm diameter each, they are made from virtually indestructible, child-safe and non-toxic melamine, and are completely dishwasher-safe. Also included in the melamine collection is a mug, a spoon, a French cereal bowl and a tray - each as one as beautifully-illustrated and colourful as the plates. The placemat, £5 (pictured below), perfectly completes the collection and will fascinate little eyes with its adorable illustrations of Mouk and his international adventures: If you like what you see, why not have a look at the book itself, 'Around the World with Mouk'? Complete with 40 re-useable stickers, the reader is invited to join Mouk and his friends on their journey to eleven different countries. It's big - measuring 29 x 29cm in hardback, with thick glossy paper and padded covers, meaning it will last for many a bedtime story session. An adorable and unique collection that will appeal to boys and girls of all ages (and quite possibly their parents, too).
